Hideaki Kobayakawa at Mt Matsuo promised to betray Mitsunari for Ieyasu before the fight. Sadaharu Okudaira (who was sent from Ieyasu Tokugawa to monitor) prompted Hideaki to betray Mitsunari. But Hideaki Kobayakawa decided to abstain, and he did not move his military in the morning.
After noon Ieyasu shot a gun into Hideaki’s camp, and that made Hideaki panic. So he decided to join the EASTERN ARMY. Sadaharu ran down the mountain with an army of 16,000 under Hideaki Kobayakawa, and swooped down on Yoshitsugu Otani’s camp. Then he died a heroic death in Tama village. In 1864 Sadaharu’s grave was built by his descendant, his monument which is adjacent to the grave was built by the Fuwa society for the preservation of Historic sites.
